Privacy Policy
Effective September 19, 2026
This policy describes what Sell My Stuff ("the app") collects and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address, display name, and optional profile photo, stored with Google Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email those providers share.
- Item photos — photos you take or choose for an item are uploaded to our cloud storage so the AI listing draft and comp search can run, and are kept with your item until you delete it.
- Items, drafts, and usage — your items, the AI-drafted listing details, comparable-listing results, listing status, and a count of how many comp searches and AI drafts you have used (we enforce a monthly allowance).
- eBay account connection — if you connect your eBay account, we store the OAuth tokens eBay issues so the app can create and publish listings on your behalf. Tokens are kept server-side only and are never exposed to other users. We only act on your eBay account when you explicitly publish or manage a listing in the app.
How photos and item details are used
To draft your listing, your item photos and any details you enter are submitted to Google's Gemini AI service from our servers. To find comparable listings, a photo is submitted to a reverse image search (Google Lens, via the SerpApi service), also from our servers. When you publish, your photos and listing details are sent to eBay as part of your listing. Photos are not used for advertising and are not shared with other users.
Third-party processors
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, storage, and server functions.
- Google Gemini — AI drafting of listing details from your photos.
- SerpApi — reverse image search for comparable listings.
- eBay — your connected seller account; listings you publish are created there under eBay's own terms and privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't show ads or use third-party advertising trackers.
- We don't access your photo library beyond the images you pick.
- We don't touch your eBay account except for listings you explicitly publish or manage in the app.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual items (and their photos) at any time, disconnect your eBay account under Profile, and delete your entire account (and its data) in the app under Profile → Delete account.
